Norwegian has two distinctly different written languages: ''bokmål'' and ''nynorsk''. In many cases, the species mentioned in the lexicon are called the same in both languages, in the instances this is not the case, the species name is followed by "(bm)" for ''bokmål'' or "(nn)" for ''nynorsk''.
